Deirdre O'Byrne

Deirdre received her BA in Visual Communication from the National College of Art & Design in Dublin, Ireland. She was hired as a full-time illustrator after college but gave it up to travel the world and paint and landed in the US. Deirdre worked as a graphic designer in New York, Houston, and Seattle before finally moving to San Diego where the artist calls home.

Passionate about the ocean and animals. Deirdre particularly enjoys painting seascapes, local landscapes and animals. The artist’s love of bright colors is evident in her creative combination of realism and color using vibrant palettes. For her custom pet portraits she strives to capture the animal’s expression and unique personality on canvas, as well as the breed’s distinct characteristics.
